Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford has been an American actor, dancer and vocalist since the mid 1990s. The first Broadway performances include Wicked Legally Blonde & Hair. The play You Can't Take It With You, she won the Tony Award as Best Featured actress in the Play. Annaleigh, Tony Award-winning actress and director, has spent the majority of her career working alongside famous directors and actors both in film and on television. Ashford is scheduled to be starring opposite Kumail Nanjiani on the Hulu limited series Welcome to Chippendales from creator Robert Siegel premiering on November 22. Ashford's current project is Searchlight Pictures horror thriller Dust which he is starring in with Sarah Paulson and Ebonmoss-Bachrach. The film will be aired on Disney DTC in the form of it becomes a Hulu Original. Ashford is set to return in 2023. He will be starring opposite Josh Groban at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre for the return of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton will direct the production. Ashford's last performance was Paula Jones on Ryan Murphy FX's American Crime Story Impeachment. The show is based on the National scandal that featured Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky, and Linda Tripp. Her two-season stint on the CBS show B Positive was her first big character. It was produced by Chuck Lorre with Marco Pennette. The show featured Linda Lavin as well as Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen. Ashford is no stranger to Broadway. Her portrayal of Essie on You Can't Take It with You was a winner of the Tony Drama Desk Awards and Outer Critics Circle Awards. Additional Broadway performances are Sunday in the Park with George Wicked Legally Blonde and the originating role of Lauren as Lauren in Kinky Boots a performance for which she received another Tony Award nomination. Ashford was born and raised in Denver and now divides the time in Los Angeles, and New York.
